Note A translation of the author's inaugural dissertation, 'De valetudine litteratorum', Lausanne, 1766, of which an unauthorized French translation, 'Avis aux gens de lettres et aux personnes sédentaires sur leur santé' was published at Paris, 1767, followed by the authorized translation, 'De la santé des gens de lettres', at Lausanne, 1768.
